Central California Events

The fun never ends here in Central California, which is clear on this blog! As your Central California real estate agent, I love keeping you updated on the latest and greatest events and activities happening in the area. There are so many reasons to love living in Central California and on Lake Nacimiento, and the constant stream of local events is a big one!

Here are two more events taking place in the coming weeks here in Central California. Mark them on your calendar and plan ahead!

Monterey Jazz Festival

The longest, continuously-running jazz event in the world takes place right here in Monterey County, and it’s coming up this weekend, Sept. 19 through Sept. 21! Over 40,000 jazz fans are expected to attend the 57th edition of Monterey Jazz Festival, with over 500 artists performing on eight stages. These stages are spread out across 20 acres at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center.

Old, classic favorites and visionary new artists will both fill the stages with jazz, blues, folk and American song. Notable performers include Herbie Hancock, The Roots, Shawn Colvin, Marcus Miller, Michael Feinstein, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra and more!

Along with music, the fest will include a Taste Tent with beer, wine and food from local Monterey restaurants, an auction, exhibits, children’s activities and more.

Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Run

Sunday, Sept. 28 is the 16th Annual Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day & Fun Run! Every year, HOB presents this fun event for the whole family, and all of the proceeds benefit local charities. This year, the beneficiaries include the Paso Robles Library Foundation, RISE and Habitat for Humanity for SLO County.

You can sign up for the 10K run, the 5K run or walk, or one the kids’ races! These include a half-mile run for ages five through 12, a 75-yard dash for kids up to age five, and a diaper dash for infants. Parents are welcome to run with their children in the kids’ races. All participants receive a race t-shirt, commemorative race medal, a pancake breakfast and entry into numerous prize giveaways!

If interested, you can register online now, at any Heritage Oaks Bank location, by mail, in Paso Robles City Park on Sept. 27, or on race day prior to the race.

Plan ahead and keep these dates open! Also, don’t forget about the two events taking place in Paso Robles this weekend, which I filled you in on last week. And the biggest event of the month here in Central California, Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast, is yet to come on Sept. 27 and 28! Get more information in our recent blog post about this exciting event.
