On day 10 of the Chimney Fire, 31,644 acres have burned and the fire is 35 percent contained. Mandatory evacuation orders are in effect for Christmas Cove, Oak Shores, South Shore Village, Cal Shasta Club, Ranchos Del Lago, Bee Rock, Lake San Antonio and Bryson Hesperia areas.
Extreme fire behavior was observed overnight and some crews had to pull back as fire entered Christmas Cove, running North through the Lynch Canyon and Hesperia areas. Winds were calm, thankfully, and there have not been reports of more lost structures. Power and cell tower signals were cut for Heritage Ranch, Oak Shores, Lynch Canyon, Bee Rock and Bryson Hesperia due to firefighter safety. Reports have shown that power was restored to Heritage Ranch this morning, but be ready for this to change at any time.
According to news reports, some homeowners are refusing to evacuate, which not only puts them in harm’s way by staying in the path of the fire, but it also endangers firefighting operations in the area. It is strongly advised that you evacuate your home if it is in one of the evacuation sites.
The fire has not reached Oak Shores, but presently we only have one strike team, five engines, inside Oak Shores, although a total of three have been assigned. They are beginning a firing operation and have closed Interlake RD from Lynch Canyon to Bee Rock Road. Unfortunately, this is the identical scenario from the last two days where they attempted backfiring. When the winds picked up around 
3 p.m., the fire jumped outside the containment lines. Due to low visibility, no aircraft are flying in our Oak Shores area at this time.
Please continue to pray for this to STOP. Pray for all those continuously involved in fighting this fire and getting it contained. Please also pray for all those whom have lost their homes or whom have been evacuated from their homes and are in the pathway of this fire.
