Central California Is Next ‘Wine Pilgrimage’

Central California Real Estate
Central California Food & Wine Hot Spots

According to Food & Wine, the Central Coast of California is our state’s next great wine destination! Therefore, staff members of theirs toured Central California and came up with the best places to eat, drink and stay. As a Central California real estate agent, it always interests me to see what visitors choose to see, eat and do!

Here’s a summary of what Food & Wine recommends for Central California:

Where to Eat

Restaurant 1833: Built in 1833, this adobe building is now the place to eat comfort foods, such as Applewood-smoked sturgeon and chicken-skin crumble. It’s located in Monterey.

Aubergine: Here you can enjoy a new eight-course tasting menu, made of genius combinations by Food & Wine Best New Chef 2013 Justin Cogley. It’s located in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Il Grillo: Head here in the morning for pastries, in the afternoon for cheese and homemade salami, and handmade pastas in the evening. It’s located in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Ember Restaurant: Here you can enjoy pizzas that Brian Collins is famous for making, along with open-air and grilled food and wood-fired oven dishes. It’s located in Arroyo Grande.

Where to Drink

Jeninni Kitchen & Wine Bar: A Veteran sommelier has filled his wine list here with European favorites, along with wines he makes himself with local fruit. It’s located in Pacific Grove.

Soif Wine Bar & Merchants: Take a drive to this bar, which has become the tasting room for many new local, little producers, such as Birichino, Trail Marker and more. It’s located in Santa Cruz.

Field Recordings: Located in Tin City, this is one of 14 wineries that has a new tasting room for wines made from some of the Central Coast’s oldest vineyards. It’s located in Paso Robles.

Halter Ranch: A new tasting room will soon open at the top of this gravity-fed winery, overlooking the beautiful vineyards. Cellar tours are available on weekends. It’s located in Paso Robles.

What do you think of this list? Were you surprised by any of Food & Wine’s choices? Are there any that you would have added? To view the full list, including places to stay, check out the Food & Wine article in its entirety.

As they said, the Central Coast of California is soon to be California’s next wine pilgrimage, but it seems as though it already is! Now is a great time to buy a Central California home, or to sell your Central California home, while the region is getting so much publicity.
