CA Mid State Fair 2019 Details

The beloved, annual California Mid-State Fair is back! It begins today, July 17 and runs through July 28, noon to midnight each day at the Paso Robles Event Center. Enjoy 12 days of summer fun in the heart of the Central Coast region, Paso Robles! As your Central Coast real estate agent, I have put together some of the main details you’ll want to know before venturing to the Fair.

Regular Fair admission costs $14 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6-12, and $12 for seniors 62 and over. There are lots of ways to save, such as pre-sale discounts, special days, season passes, and carnival “WOW” passes. Parking costs $20 per day.

You can check out the daily schedules to see which days you’re most interested in attending. Tonight’s entertainment includes Miranda Lambert with Randy Houser in the Chumash Grandstand Arena, and Smash Mouth on Frontier Stage, among others!

Kids of all ages can enjoy the carnival rides and games. This includes the notorious Cliff Hanger, Big Splash, and High Voltage, along with the classics, like the carousel, fun slide, swings and more. Other kid-friendly activities include the diaper dash, petting zoo, farm fresh kids activities, equestrian row expo, pony rides, tractor races and so much more. There is no shortage of activities for kids and families to enjoy at the Fair!

Many concerts are free with Fair admission, so check out the schedule and plan accordingly! Examples of some of the free music you can enjoy are Smash Mouth, Bear Market Riot, Kenny Tailor, The Turkey Buzzards and many more. Ticketed shows include the bigger names, such as Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Billy Idol, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zac Brown Band, Smokey Robinson and many others. There is also a barn dance each night, where you can just boogie to music!

Of course, many Fair goers attend just for the delicious assortment of food. There are new food vendors every year, keeping it interesting. New this year is Baja Lobster Dogs, Pon’s Chinese Food, The Gingerbread Shop, Top Notch Concessions and others.

You could spend all day just walking around and checking out Fair exhibits. These include arts and crafts, agriculture/horticulture, farm art, fine arts, floriculture, home arts, photography, industrial arts, tractor restoration and more. There is also a home-brewing competition and a home winemaking competition, among others!

Then of course, there are the livestock competitions and the horse show, which every animal lover loves to check out. All of these details are available on the Fair website.

When deciding when to attend, check out the special events. There is an Armed Forces Day, a Kids Day, a Cattlemen & Farmers Day, Seniors Day, a Career Fair, craft beer tasting, wine tasting, pancake breakfast, Miss CMSF Pageant and more.

As your Central Coast real estate agent, I hope you enjoy the California Mid-State Fair this year! It’s so exciting to have a huge event like this right in our backyard, and right in the heart of summer. Take advantage! Your family will never forget these memories.
