California Mid-State Fair

The California Mid-State Fair begins this week in Paso Robles and runs from July 16 to July 27! This is one of Central California’s biggest and longest fests, so as your Central California real estate agent, I’m here to fill you in on all the details that you need to know before it begins.

The first festival activity is actually tomorrow, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. This is when the Miss California Mid-State Fair Pageant takes place at the Bud Light/Cantinas Frontier Stage. Admission is free, so head out tomorrow evening to cheer on the local contestants! You can read more about each one on the festival website ahead of time.

The Fair officially kicks off on Wednesday, July 16, with a 4-H and FFA Horse Show at the Livestock Pavilion, and a Poultry Show at the Chumash Grandstand Arena, at 9 a.m., followed by a Cattle Drive at 10 a.m. At noon is when the carnival and buildings open at the Fairgrounds. Lots of shows and demonstrations take place throughout the day and for the rest of the Fair schedule. When you get hungry or thirsty, you have over 85 vendors to choose from!

The California Mid-State Fair is known for its amazing lineup of music. If you haven’t gotten tickets to the concerts you’d like to see this week, now is the time to do it! Big names include Lifehouse with Hot Chelle Rae, Train with the Wallflowers, Demi Lovato, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line and more.

There are numerous stages filled with live performances each day of the Fair, so be sure to check out the entire lineup. You can also purchase tickets to the Country Rodeo Finals on July 26 and Monster Trucks on July 27. On July 21-23, enjoy live band karaoke, where you are the performer!

The Fair takes place at the Paso Robles Event Center. To make parking easier, there are off-site places you can park for free and then catch a free ride on a shuttle. The shuttle runs from noon to midnight daily during the Fair and there are plenty of locations for hopping on and off. It runs every 10-15 minutes, so this is a very convenient option. Paid parking is available onsite but is limited.

Enjoy the first week of the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles! If you’ve got visitors coming into town, send them my way when they decide they want to buy a Central California home and make this beautiful region their home.
