Thank you to all who made the annual firefighter’s ball this past weekend (2/13/10) such a roaring success – we raisied over $4,000 for the fire department! RAIN REFILLING NACIMIENTO LAKE!
A storm is expected to bring precipitation Friday through Saturday morning

Recent winter rains have helped boost water levels at Nacimiento Lake, which had dropped to severe lows after three years of drought.
Earlier this week, the lake was at 44 percent of its capacity, compared with 27 percent about a year ago.
These pictures show the impact. The photo of the dried-up lake, taken in an upper arm of Nacimiento, was shot on Feb. 1, 2009. Private docks sit on the mud.

The next photo, taken last Sunday at the same spot, reveals docks once again floating and nooks of the lake refilling with water.
Rain is next expected on Friday afternoon, as several storm systems are slated to move into Central California, according to John Lindsey, a local forecaster and media relations representative for Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
That storm is forecast to bring rain through Saturday morning, with between 0.25 and 0.75 inches expected to fall, he said.
A break will occur Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, but another storm will bring rain Sunday night through Monday morning. Showers will linger through Tuesday.
This rain season has already been wetter than the previous three: As of Wednesday, San Luis Obispo had received 24.55 inches of rain, just over the yearly normal of 24.36 inches. The rain year runs from July 1 to June 30.

Your Community Association, OSCA, is pleased and excited to provide information to the residents 
of Oak Shores about new options for low cost, high speed internet and consolidated phone services. This is long awaited good news for full and part-timers who have struggled with Internet and cell phone service at Oak Shores.
Our new manager, Dennis Javens and several owners have been meeting with a private phone company in San Luis Obispo, Norcast, to explore new technologies and options that could work for Oak Shores residents. As an outcome of these discussions, Norcast has prepared a proposal with a price list (See Info Box) that we can now share with all Oak Shores residents.
These prices consolidate your internet and phone bill and can include long distance nationwide coverage. The internet speed, (3Mbs) is about twice as fast as current Satellite providers offer to homeowners. With call forwarding included you can receive cell phone calls to your Oak Shores home phone eliminating expensive cell phone signal boosting equipment. All these options include the reliability of hard-wired land line phone connectivity.
If you have questions or are interested in any of these options, please call the OSCA office at 805-472-2233. To make the community investment in equipment necessary to offer these options at Oak Shores Norcast must have at least 60 customers.

We are starting to have problems with air vents on houses being completely filled with acorns, leaves and other debris. This is a real danger and can lead to severe problems in your home. We just had an instance where a very well maintained two story house had the vents filled with debris all the way from ground level to the top.
