Now that it’s February, time to plan ahead for the biggest wine event of the month – BlendFest on the Coast! This event is coming up Feb. 20-23 in Cambria and San Simeon. As your Central Coast real estate agent, I’m here to fill you in on the details, so you can buy your tickets and plan ahead properly! One of the benefits of living on the Central Coast is the proximity to Paso Robles Wine Region. Take advantage!
Each Paso Robles winery event focuses on something specific, and BlendFest is all about celebrating blended wines. By mixing varietals, winemakers get to craft unique and delicious wines you otherwise would never get to taste. This fest is all about honoring and celebrating those wines and winemakers.
Here’s the layout for the weekend:
BlendFest Winemaker Dinners
1. Oceanpoint Ranch will host a Winemaker Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. This will take place at Oceanpoint Ranch on Moonstone Beach in Cambria. Wines from numerous wineries will be served with a unique tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Adam Measurall.
2. Indigo Moon in Cambria will host a Wine Dinner on Friday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. You can dine with seven award-winning Paso Robles winemakers while enjoying modern American cuisine. Wines will be paired with a creative menu prepared by the Executive Chef.
3. Hearst Ranch will host a Winemaker Dinner on Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Dine in the historic Hearst Warehouse, which sits on a bluff overlooking San Simeon Bay, while enjoying Hearst Ranch wines paired with a locally inspired menu from Chef Santos MacDonal of The Truck.

BlendFest: Blending Seminar
The Blending Seminar takes place on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cavalier Oceanfront Resort. Become a winemaker for the day as you try your hand at making the perfect blend of wine with three of Paso Robles’ winemakers as your guides. Then compete for the best blend! Lunch with the winemakers will follow. Cost is $50.
BlendFest: Sunset Grand Tasting
The Grand Tasting event on Feb. 22 is the main event of the weekend! This runs from 4 to 6 p.m. for general admission, $55 tickets, or 3-6 p.m. for VIP admission, $70 tickets. The Grand Tasting brings together 40 renowned wineries from the Paso Robles region, each showcasing their distinct blends. You get to sample the wines, enjoy the stunning ocean views from Oceanpoint Ranch’s Sundance Lawn, listen to live music by Big Sirs of Swing, and enjoy small bits from the Oceanfront Ranch Canteen.
