Best Secret Attractions in Monterey County!

Monterey County Real Estate
Monterey County “Secret Spots”

Did you just buy a home in Central California after relocating here? Have you only lived in the area for a few years? Even lifers haven’t all been to these secret attractions in Monterey County! As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to share some of the top locations with you.

See Monterey shared a list of 20 secret spots. I have chosen what I consider to be the top five. If I left any of your favorites off the list, let me know by leaving a comment!

1.  Have you ever eaten at Lucia Restaurant at Bernardus Lodge? How about at the chef’s table at Lucia Restaurant? From here, you can watch Chef Cal Stamenov make all of his delectable dishes, and you can read notes from celebrities who have eaten here, such as from Leonardo DiCaprio and Julia Childs. It’s quite the foodie experience!

2.  Are you or someone you know ready to propose? Did you know there is a beach so perfect for doing that in Monterey County, that it’s actually named Proposal Beach? It’s located on the Asilomar Conference Grounds and is ideally situated for famous Central California sunsets. You’ll find it along the boardwalk, through the sand dunes. Make a romantic evening of it!

3.  If you don’t have a Ferrari to drive on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track, no worries. You can take your bicycle and ride it on the track for just $10 at twilight on certain nights! The website posts the upcoming dates for doing this. That is one bike ride you won’t forget to tell your friends about!

4.  Want to go for a swim on a hot summer day in Monterey County? Visit Ventana Wilderness and then head to Arroyo Seco Gorge for secret swimming holes! There are some lower pools by the campground, and then there are the more challenging, upper pools that require a hike, but are well worth it.

5.  Golfing is a popular sport here in Central California, but did you know you can enjoy it at a cheap fare? At Pacific Grove Golf Links, also known as the “Poor Man’s Pebble Beach,” green fees start at under $40! You can still enjoy gorgeous views of waves and cypress trees for a fourth of the cost of other courses.

These are just five of the 20 secret spots that See Monterey mentioned in their article. You can also enjoy the music of a lone bagpiper at sunset by outdoor fire pits, view century-old oil paintings of the Central California area, enjoy lesser known hikes, bike the 17 Mile Drive for free, and much more.

Enjoy these secret, less populated areas of Monterey County and feel like a local doing it! When ready to buy a Central California home, or when ready to sell your Central California home, contact me. As your Central California real estate agent, I am to here to help you in any way that I can.
