As your Central California real estate agent, I shared where you and your kids can spot Santa Claus around Central California in my last blog post. Today, let’s talk about where the adults of the area can celebrate the holidays with some wine, gourmet food, holiday entertainment, great views, unique shopping, and just enough relaxation!
Our local Central California wineries host events throughout the year, and the holiday season is no exception. Here’s a list of five events going on this Saturday, Dec. 13, at our local wineries and vineyards:
1. Mitchella Vineyard & Winery is hosting a Holiday Open House and Wine Sale on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.! Celebrate the season with beautiful views, delicious samples of wine, artisanal cheeses, savory hors d’ oeuvres and mouth-watering chocolates, and score great prices on wine for the holidays. Cost is $10 per person, or complementary for club members.
2. The Pop-In & Be Merry event is happening on Saturday at participating Back Roads Wineries from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each winery will be offering gourmet popcorn and exciting secret sales. You can pop a balloon to reveal what discount you receive. Discounts of up to 50 percent will be offered! Each winery will also be selling two etched wooden boxes, filled with six library wines from Back Roads Wineries.
3. Every Saturday this month, Treana and Hope Family Wines is hosting a Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can stop in to enjoy wine sampling, small bites and shopping for stocking stuffers. This even is complimentary!
4. J Dusi Wines wants to help you get in the holiday spirit with Tastes and Treats. The barrel room will be decorated for the holidays, and local vendors will be present to sell unique holiday items on Saturday. There will also be a Holiday Cookie Bar, live holiday music, and a special one-day release of their GSM Blend. Shop while tasting J Dusi Wines. This event is free!
5. While not necessarily a holiday event, Castoro Cellars is hosting three of the premier Celtic harpers at their winery for a winter season celebration. SLOFolks Presents: Legends of the Celtic Harp, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $22 and will take you through an uplifting musical journey through myths, legends and tales of the Celtic Harp. https://www.castorocellars.com/Events
