SLO County Events This Week

As a Central California real estate agent, I often find myself bragging about all of the events and activities there are to enjoy in the Central California region. The list just never ends! Now that it’s August and there are only a few weeks left of summer, it’s time to push things into high gear and fill your remaining summer days with fun for the whole family.

To help you plan, here is a list of events and activities coming up this week in San Luis Obispo County:

1.  Every day this month, you can stop by the Robert Hall Winery Tasting Room in Paso Robles for their Wine Aroma Sensory Station! Test your sensory wine knowledge and then taste the wines to see if you correctly identified the wines by their aromas. You can stop in and do this any time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Cost is $5 for just smelling and $10 to taste as well.

2.  Wednesday, Aug. 6, head to SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel in Pismo Beach between 5 and 7 p.m. for Winesdays! This Wednesday features Clayhouse Wines. You can enjoy free wine tastings and live music with chair massages by Zada Salon & Spa. All of this takes place on the RoofTop Terrace overlooking Pismo Beach. This is the epitome of relaxation!

3.  If you love beer, you’ll love the Backyard Brewmaster Dinner taking place at Apple Farm Restaurant in San Luis Obispo this Friday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. Cost is $85, which includes four courses of handcrafted farm-to-table cuisine paired with craft beers from BarrelHouse Brewing in Paso Robles. You’ll learn all about the brews and listen to live music!

4.  For indoor entertainment, check out Rodger & Hammerstein’s Cinderella at SLO Little Theatre! This begins Aug. 8 and runs through Aug. 24 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults and $13 for students. Enjoy the classic tale of Cinderella’s magical fairy tale as she dances the night away at the ball with the prince, thanks to her fairy godmother. It’s perfect entertainment for the whole family!

5.  The 6th Annual Chili Festival will take place Sunday, Aug. 10 at Biddle Park in Arroyo Grande from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission only costs $5. Local restaurants will compete in the chili competition and the public votes and chooses the winners in numerous categories. Aside from chili, the fest includes children’s games, arts and crafts, beer and wine, live entertainment by the SLO Jazz Festival with local bands, Wild West demonstrations and more!

These specialty events and activities coming up this week in SLO County are a fun, out-of-the-ordinary way to enjoy your time. However, concerts in the park, farmers markets and Lake Nacimiento activities are still going as well! You have tons of options.
